Description

"This replica of the first restarted line of wild man made creatures was put into production in the year 2089 by the W.E.L.F.E’s corporation. (Wild Electronic Life Future Enterprise)

The heart of the lion was genetically created using 3D tissue to give it a real beating heart to appease the worry of the general populous on the subject of creating the once feared idea of robotic life re-created project."
(The statement above is on the plaque on the left.)

This is the next installment of my W.E.L.F.E robotic creatures and this guy has taken a good half a year to make and has become a much bigger project then I thought he would be. I have always had in mind of doing a lion head as a stand alone bust but after some sketching of full body ideas I decided to make this guy a reality. The reason and look of the base is for the idea that this is a museum exhibit in the year 2090 or 3000 showing when man started to recreate wild beasts that had become extinct. The body was sculpted, painted and every wire you see on the mane was hand weaved and glued on. (It took forever, but I must admit it was well worth it in the end.)
In addition to the look of this bad boy his heart and eyes light up, for a look at them glowing you can check it out here: astarabriarart.deviantart.com/…

Anyway thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more art to come! :D

If you would like to see the other two creatures in the W.E.L.F.E line you can check them out here:

WOW, this is really great and very original! It's both fascinated and scary (maybe one day robots will replace our pets and wildlife -thats a scary thought). I love your museum exhibit design and idea.  Can't wait to see more ;)
